This guide shows you how to auto edit a clip with AI Edit on the Eklipse web app, from loading the clip to downloading or posting the edited vertical video.
Before You Start #
- An Eklipse account. Signing up is free; AI Edit is part of Eklipse’s paid plans.
- A clip between 15 seconds and 3 minutes long. AI Edit will not run outside that range.
- A clip source: a Twitch or Kick clip URL, a clip from your AI Highlights, or an MP4 file under 1 GB.
- Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a desktop or laptop, with Hardware Acceleration turned on.
Steps 1-3: Load Your Clip #
- Click AI Edit in your Eklipse dashboard.
- Choose your clip in the dialog box: paste a Twitch or Kick clip URL, pick one from your AI Highlights, or upload a video.
- Click Get Clip to load it into the editor.
Screenshot tip: the AI Edit dialog with the URL field, AI Highlights list, and upload option visible.
Steps 4-5: Customize and Generate #
- Customize the clip before the edit runs. You can change the aspect ratio, add text, and turn on auto-captions or memes. AI Edit adds up to one meme per clip on the standard layout; Premium gives you finer control over what it applies.
- Click Generate AI Edit to process the video.

Step 6: Download or Post #
- Download the edited clip, or post it directly to social media from Eklipse. If you want a different version, click Re-submit.
What AI Edit Applies Automatically #
When the clip meets the requirements, AI Edit reframes it to a vertical format and adds captions, sound effects, and visual effects such as zoom-in and slow motion. If you turned memes on, it also places a meme. You can review the result before you export it, and captions stay editable.
What Happens Next #
Your clip is ready as a vertical video for TikTok, Reels, and Shorts. To try a different look, pick another template or layout in the editor and generate again. To learn what each layout does, see How to choose a layout in AI Edit.
Troubleshooting #
Q: The AI Edit button is greyed out.
A: Check the clip length. AI Edit only runs on clips between 15 seconds and 3 minutes, so trim or extend the clip into that range. See What are the AI Edit requirements?
Q: The editor won’t load in my browser.
A: Use Chrome or Edge on a desktop or laptop, turn on Hardware Acceleration, and disable ad-blockers or heavy privacy extensions. A private window also works.
Q: My clip came from a stream and won’t load.
A: The original VOD needs to still be public on Twitch or YouTube. Deleted or subscriber-only VODs can’t be reached.
Q: I don’t want memes in my edit.
A: Open the clip in the Editor, find the Template or Meme Style section in the right-hand panel, and select No Template. See How can I remove the memes?
