Before you run AI Edit, your clip has to meet a few conditions. If any of them are off, the AI Edit button stays greyed out or the automatic edits get skipped.
Clip Requirements #
- Length: 15 seconds to 3 minutes. This is the one people hit most often. A clip shorter or longer than that will not process. Trim or extend it into range first.
- Format: MP4.
- File size: under 1GB for manual uploads.
- Source: a Twitch or Kick clip URL, one of your AI Highlights, or a video you upload yourself.
- Content: raw gameplay works best. Heavily edited montages can confuse the AI detection.
- Source VOD still available: if you are editing a clip taken from a stream, the original VOD needs to still be public on Twitch or YouTube. Deleted or subscriber-only VODs cannot be reached.
Where You Can Run It #
AI Edit works both in the mobile app and on the web.
In the mobile app: tap Create on the main menu, then AI Edit, then Upload clip to pick a video from your gallery. Full steps: How to upload a video to AI Edit.
On the web, a few browser conditions apply:
- Use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a desktop or laptop. Running AI Edit in a phone browser has limitations — use the app instead.
- Turn Hardware Acceleration on in your browser settings.
- Ad-blockers and heavy privacy extensions can block the editor. Try disabling them or using a private window.
What AI Edit Applies #
Once the clip is in range, AI Edit reframes it vertically and adds captions, sound effects, and visual effects automatically. It adds up to one meme per clip. Premium gives you finer control over what gets applied.
