Grand Theft Auto V is packed with wild heists, car chases, and epic shootouts. To make sure every moment turns into a highlight, follow these GTA V stream best practices. With Eklipse, you’ll learn how to make the best game highlights and instantly share a Twitch clip to a TikTok in just a few taps.
✅ 1. Confirm Grand Theft Auto V Is Supported #
Eklipse only works if the game is supported in its system. Check the Eklipse Supported Games List and confirm Grand Theft Auto V is included.
✅ 2. Select the Correct Game Category #
Eklipse detects highlights based on the game category you stream under. If your stream isn’t tagged as GTA V, highlights won’t be captured.
Twitch
- Go to Creator Dashboard → Click Stream Manager
- Edit Stream Info
- Set category to Grand Theft Auto V
YouTube
- Open YouTube Studio → Go Live
- Choose Stream → Click Edit
- Set Category to Gaming
- Enter Grand Theft Auto V as the game title
Facebook Gaming
- Start Live Stream
- Under Gaming, select Grand Theft Auto V
✅ 3. Keep GTA V HUD Elements Visible #
Eklipse reads your in-game HUD to detect highlights. If these elements are covered, important clips may be missed.
Must stay visible in GTA V:
- Mini-map & radar → bottom left
- Health, armor, and special ability bar → bottom left (above mini-map)
- Weapon wheel & ammo info → bottom right (when switching weapons)
- Money & wanted level stars → top right
Safe to cover:
- Chat box (if you’re on roleplay servers)
- Optional HUD mods (but best avoided for detection accuracy)
🎥 Recommended Stream Overlays: Do’s and Don’ts #
✅ Good Overlay Placement
- Facecam in the top left or top center (doesn’t block HUD)
- Alerts positioned away from the mini-map or health bar
- All key HUD elements are fully visible
❌ Bad Overlay Placement
- Facecam covering mini-map or health bar
- Alerts blocking money or wanted stars
- Widgets overlapping weapon/ammo info
✅ 4. Set Stream Visibility to Public #
Eklipse cannot process Private or Unlisted streams. Always set your stream to Public before you go live.
✅ 5. Use Correct Language and HUD Settings #
For the best detection accuracy, keep GTA V on default settings.
- In-game language: English
- HUD and mini-map: default style and colors
- Avoid mods or roleplay server overlays that replace or move HUD
