If you are trying to connect your Facebook account to Eklipse to quickly share your viral gaming clips, but keep running into connection errors or the link simply won’t stick, the issue almost always comes down to the type of Facebook account you are using.
The Fix: Use a Personal Profile #
To ensure your Facebook account links properly to the Eklipse platform, please make sure you are connecting a Personal Facebook Profile, not a Business Page or a Gaming Page.
Because of how Facebook’s privacy and API permissions work, our system requires a standard personal page to successfully authorize the connection. If you are currently logged into a Business Page on your browser when you try to link the account, the connection will fail.
Steps to fix the issue #
- Open a new tab in your browser and go to Facebook.
- Ensure you are completely switched over and logged into your Personal Profile (the main account that manages your pages).
- Come back to Eklipse and try clicking the connect button again.
Check Your Browser Cache! #
If you are still getting an error even after making sure you are on a personal profile, try clearing your browser’s cookies/cache or linking your account using an “Incognito” or “Private Browsing” window to force a fresh login.
