If portions of your VOD are muted (usually due to Twitch’s copyright/DMCA detection for playing licensed music), the AI will still try to do its job, but it will severely impact the AI’s accuracy.
Here is what happens when the AI processes a muted video:
1. The Missing Audio Data #
Our AI relies heavily on a dual-engine system. A massive part of how Eklipse detects “hype” or excitement is through audio analysis. It listens for your laughter, sudden shouting, or intense in-game sound effects. If a section of your VOD is muted, all of that crucial data is completely wiped out.
2. Relying Purely on Visuals #
Without audio, the AI is forced to rely solely on visual cues. It will scan your screen for UI changes, kill feeds, and victory screens.
3. The Result: Fewer Clips #
The AI may still be able to find highlights using visual cues alone, but the results will likely be less accurate, and you will receive far fewer clips than you normally would from a stream with full audio.
How to avoid this in the future: #
To get the maximum amount of high-quality clips, we highly recommend using a “VOD Track” in your streaming software (like OBS) to separate your Spotify/music audio from your main broadcast audio. This ensures your live viewers hear the music, but your saved VOD (and the Eklipse AI) only hears your voice and the game!
Muted Audio + Unsupported Games #
If you are playing a game that our visual AI does not currently support, the AI relies 100% on your audio to find clips. If your VOD is muted while playing an unsupported game, the AI will likely find zero highlights.

If your Twitch VOD got muted, you can always upload a clean, unmuted local recording directly from your computer to get your highlights.
