Turn gaming clips into YouTube Shorts

- One clip in, one Short out. Bring a clip you already have.
- Vertical by default. Reframed to 9:16 when you generate.
- Whole stream? Find the moments first with AI Highlights.

Format your clip for vertical viewing
Most gameplay is recorded wide. Shorts play tall. AI Edit reframes the clip to 9:16 and keeps the action in view, following the crosshair, killfeed, and facecam.
The clip must run 15 seconds to 3 minutes, or AI Edit will not start. Full details are in the AI Edit requirements.

YouTube Shorts editor FAQ
How do I edit a gaming clip for YouTube Shorts?
Open AI Edit in the Eklipse dashboard. Paste a Twitch or Kick clip URL, pick a clip from AI Highlights, or upload an MP4 under 1 GB, then click Get Clip. Choose your aspect ratio, text, auto-captions, and memes, click Generate AI Edit, and review the vertical result before you download or post it.
Does Eklipse export vertical 9:16 videos?
Yes. AI Edit reframes your clip to vertical 9:16, the shape Shorts, TikTok, and Reels play in. You can download that file or post it directly to social media from Eklipse.
Can I use a Twitch clip to make a YouTube Short?
Yes. Paste the Twitch clip URL into AI Edit. Kick clip URLs work the same way. The clip has to be 15 seconds to 3 minutes long, and the stream VOD it came from must still be public.
Do I need to edit the clip manually?
No timeline work is needed. AI Edit reframes the clip to vertical and adds captions, a meme, sound effects, and zoom-in or slow-motion effects. You choose the clip, the options, and the template or layout, and you can fix captions before export.
Is AI Edit available on the web, mobile, or both?
Both. On a computer, use Chrome or Edge with hardware acceleration turned on. On a phone, use the Eklipse mobile app (Create, then AI Edit, then Upload clip), since phone browsers are limited. See the AI Edit requirements for the full list.
Can I turn the memes off?
Yes. Open the clip from your Library in the Editor, go to Template / Meme Style in the right panel, and choose No Template or a basic layout such as a facecam and gameplay split. That removes the meme overlays, sound effects, and extra captions.
Can Eklipse find the best moments in my whole stream?
Not inside AI Edit, which works on clips of 15 seconds to 3 minutes. To pull moments out of a full stream, use Auto Clipper or AI Highlights, then pick one of those clips in AI Edit. Start with AI Highlights.
Is the YouTube Shorts editor free?
Creating an Eklipse account is free. AI Edit is part of the paid Eklipse plans.
