Hands-free clipping for Twitch, Kick & YouTube

Say “clip it.” Keep playing.

Call out the moment with your voice and Eklipse marks it in your stream. You never reach for a hotkey, alt-tab out of the game, or run capture software locally. The clip is waiting when you go offline.

One callout, five steps handled

From a shout mid-fight to a clip you can post

Eklipse listens to the audio of the stream it is already connected to, so the only thing you do differently is talk.

Connect your channel

Link Twitch, Kick or YouTube once. There is no software to install and no OBS routing to change.

Check your mic is audible

Your voice has to be hearable over game audio in the stream mix, because that mix is what Eklipse listens to.

Say it right after

Call “clip it” the second the moment lands. Not before it, and not thirty seconds later.

Eklipse marks the VOD

The callout becomes a marked moment built from the seconds leading up to it. You keep playing.

Finish it after the stream

Marked moments land in your dashboard next to the AI-detected ones, ready to reframe, caption and post.

What the command does

The details that decide whether your clip gets saved

Voice command is the piece of AI Highlights you drive yourself, so a few specifics decide whether a callout lands.

Three phrases fire it, and nothing else does

Eklipse listens for a short, specific phrase pattern rather than the word “clip” on its own. That is why saying “this clip is crazy” mid-stream does not fill your dashboard with junk.

  • “Clip it”, “clip this” and “clip that” all do the same thing
  • Padded versions do not fire: “get that clip”, “clip that please”, “Eklipse clip this”
  • Keep it short and clear, and say it like you mean it
  • Chat typing “clip it” does nothing, since this reads stream audio and not text

Say it after the moment, never before

Eklipse builds the highlight from the seconds that just went by, so a callout fired before the play marks a window where nothing has happened yet. Call it the instant the play lands.

  • Right after the kill, the clutch or the reaction, not in anticipation of it
  • Waiting five or more seconds pushes the moment toward the edge of the clip
  • Call as many as you want in a session, one per moment
  • If one never showed up, send the VOD link and timestamp and the team can check it

If you can hear yourself on the VOD, it works

Detection reads the audio of your stream, which means your mic has to survive your own mix. Game audio pushed far above voice is the single most common reason a command goes missing.

  • Play back thirty seconds of your last VOD. If your voice is clear over the game, you are set
  • If it is buried, raise mic gain or drop game output before the next session
  • You do not need to shout, only to be louder than the sound effects
  • No extra audio routing, no second monitor, no local capture

It catches what event detection cannot see

AI Highlights reads the game itself and runs the whole stream without you. It is strongest where there are events to read: kill feeds, scoreboards, squad wipes. Your voice covers the rest, which is why the two run together.

  • Games with no kill feed, where there is little for detection to score
  • A chat read, a bit, or a reaction to something off screen
  • The moment that mattered for a reason only you know
  • Both kinds land in one dashboard after the stream, not two

The marked moment comes back post-ready

By the time you open the dashboard, Eklipse has already reframed the callout and captioned it. Every part of the result stays adjustable.

  • Reframed to 9:16 with gameplay and facecam both kept in shot
  • Auto-captions, with font, colour and outline under your control
  • Trim and relayout by hand in Eklipse Studio whenever the AI guessed wrong
  • Publish or schedule to TikTok, Shorts and Reels from the same place
  • Exports stay sharp on fast, high-motion footage, up to 1440p

Where a callout earns the most

Voice command pays off hardest where there is no kill feed

Event detection has plenty to read in a shooter and far less in a sandbox, a horror lobby, or a chatting segment. Those are the streams where saying it out loud is what saves the moment.

Before your next stream

Voice command questions, answered directly

What phrases trigger a clip?

Three, and only three: “clip it”, “clip this” and “clip that”. All three do the same thing. Padded versions such as “get that clip” or “clip that please” are not recognised, and neither is the word “clip” on its own, which is what stops ordinary stream chatter from filling your dashboard.

Should I say it before or after the moment?

Right after, never before. Eklipse builds the highlight from the seconds that just passed, so a callout made in anticipation marks a window where nothing has happened yet. Say it the instant the play lands, and keep the phrase short and clear.

Does it work on Kick and YouTube, or only Twitch?

Twitch, Kick, YouTube and Facebook stream workflows are all supported, and voice command behaves the same on each. Your channel needs to be connected to Eklipse before you go live. Exact access depends on your plan.

If someone types “clip it” in chat, does that clip anything?

No. Voice command reads the audio of your stream, not chat text. Nothing a viewer types can trigger a clip on your account.

Can I use it on a stream that already ended?

No. A callout has to happen live, while Eklipse is connected and listening, so voice markers cannot be added to a VOD after the fact. For streams that are already finished, AI Highlights analyses the full VOD and finds moments on its own.

Why did my command not register?

Almost always the stream mix. Detection hears what your viewers hear, so if game audio sits well above your mic, the phrase gets buried. Play back thirty seconds of the VOD: if you can hear yourself clearly over the game, you are fine, and if you cannot, raise mic gain or lower game output before the next session. If a command still goes missing, send the VOD link and timestamp to the team through the Eklipse Discord and they can check it manually.

Is voice command free?

Creating an account costs nothing. Voice command is part of AI Highlights, and generating clips from your callouts runs on a paid plan. Eklipse is a fully paid product, and there is no zero-cost tier. The standalone browser tools at eklipse.gg/tool do not cost anything and need no account.

Your next clutch is one callout away.

Connect your channel, say it out loud, and deal with the clip once you are offline.
