How does it find the "best" moments?
It checks encoded segment size across the VOD (a busier scene compresses less, so it's a useful proxy for motion) to shortlist candidates, then decodes just that shortlist and scores it with a real motion + face-detection check. It is a heuristic, not a guarantee — quiet reaction moments with little on-screen motion can be missed, and you can always scrub manually.
Does this remove the background?
No. The output is a square or round crop of the frame, the same as our Emote Maker — not a background-removed cutout. Real background removal needs a model this browser-based tool can't run.
How long can the VOD be?
Any length — the scan only downloads small pieces of the VOD, not the whole thing. Very long VODs (3-4 hours+) may take a little longer to pre-scan.
Is it free? Do I need an account?
Yes, free with no account. Free VOD scans are rate-limited per day; the export step (crop, PNG/GIF) has no limit.
